Modern Foreign Languages - Key Stage 4
Key Stage 4
All pupils are required to study a language at GCSE. Pupils may choose to follow one or two languages and have five lessons over the two week timetable. Pupils follow the AQA linear course (see www.aqa.org.uk for additional syllabus information or to download a student guide). Those boys who study two languages are offered the option of taking their French GCSE at the end of year 10 and following a languages enrichment programme in year 11. This comprises preparation for their second language GCSE as well as advanced French and breakthrough Russian and Mandarin, working towards accreditation from OCR on the Asset Languages Ladder (see www.assetlanguages.org.uk for further information)

Please click on the left hand nav bar for additional information on each language taught at GCSE.
