There are six highly qualified Maths teachers and a learning assistant in the Department. We also have a retired Mathematician who coaches pupils in preparation for Oxbridge entry exams.

Key Stage 3

All classes are mixed ability for Years 7 and 8, and set in Year 9. There are six sets, of which the top set do the GCSE one year early.

Key Stage 4

GCSE is taught in six sets, the top two of which are entered for the higher paper, the middle two sit the intermediate paper, and the lower sets are entered for the foundation paper. Class size varies from 20–22 in the top two sets, to 25 in the middle two sets, to 12–13 in the bottom two sets.

Key Stage 5

We offer AS, A2 and Further Maths, one of very few schools in the borough who offer all three courses. Class size varies from 20 in AS to 10 in A2.
