Welcome to William Ellis School – a well regarded and successful school in North London. William Ellis has a long and distinguished history of providing high quality, innovative education for boys. Our improving exam results – 63% 5 A* - C grades in 2006 – are a key measure of success and compare most favourably with results both locally and nationally. We take great pride in developing articulate, independent and ambitious students with high aspirations.

At William Ellis, boys are encouraged to strive for high standards, to value their progress and to take part in the many extra-curricular opportunities on offer. We are a Language College and, quite apart from many linguistic opportunities, boys can also travel to many European venues to support their studies as well as to Kunming, China where we have a link school. Teachers and other adults provide support, guidance and inspiration to the students at William Ellis and take great pride in the many achievements of the students in the school.

William Ellis is also part of the well established and successful Sixth Form Consortium – La Swap – with three other local schools. The newly completed Art studios, Technology and Science teaching spaces and state-of-the-art Sports Hall all contribute to the forward thinking and development of William Ellis School.

Visitors are always welcome and in recent years we have hosted visits from Alastair Campbell, Sir Clive Woodward, Michael Palin, June Sarpong, Brian Lara, David Miliband and Professor Tim Brighouse to name but a few. We also have a residential study centre – The Mill – in the Surrey countryside, as well as a flourishing Parents’ Association.
