European Day of Languages
William Ellis celebrated the European Day of Languages on the 26 September.

An assembly was held on the theme of languages, followed by every teacher wearing a sticker with a welcome message on it in a language they speak.
All Year 7, 8 and 9 pupils took part by greeting their teachers in the language on their sticker, which was then signed by their teacher. Prizes were awarded to the most successful linguists.

The European Day of Languages was first celebrated during the European Year of Languages, 2001, and its aim is to alert the public to the importance of language learning and diversity.
