Soji Makes European Champion

Year 8 William Ellis student Soji Aiyenuro has been crowned European Fencing Champion. Having been involved in fencing classes (based at Acland Burghley School). The competition, held in Germany, involved Soji competing against many Fencers in older age groups.

When asked to give advice to other students who may want to get involved in fencing he replied “It just takes a lot of hard work and dedication". Good luck in your upcoming competitions Soji. He feels that he will still be too young to compete in the Olympics when London hosts in 2012. Currently, the Olympic fencing team trains in the Sports Hall at William Ellis.
